Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about CAPTiX and Aikando: how to turn expert knowledge into interactive AR work instructions for industry, with no coding required.
What is CAPTiX?
CAPTiX is the company behind the Aikando platform. We help industrial teams turn experts' hands-on knowledge into interactive augmented reality (AR) work instructions, so every worker performs tasks at the level of the best.
What is Aikando?
Aikando is a no-code XR training platform. An expert records a task directly at the workstation, and Aikando turns the recording into a step-by-step instruction that others follow hands-free and in their own language.
How does Aikando create work instructions?
In three steps, directly in the field:
- Record: an expert captures the task (gestures, voice and context).
- Generate: within minutes, the recording becomes an interactive step-by-step instruction, with no coding.
- Perform: everyone follows it hands-free, in their own language.
How does Aikando differ from PDF or paper instructions?
Instead of a static document, the worker gets step-by-step guidance in the context of the workstation, with AR prompts and without taking their hands off the task. This shortens learning time and reduces errors compared with PDF or paper instructions.
How does Aikando differ from HR onboarding apps and documentation translation tools?
These tools solve different parts of the onboarding problem. HR onboarding apps (e.g. mobile checklists) handle documents, consents and formal compliance. Translation tools convert documentation and procedures into other languages, but still require reading. Aikando picks up where these leave off: it trains hands at the machine. An expert records a task, and the new worker replays it visually, step by step, at the workstation, without reading lengthy documents and without a shared language. These categories complement each other: formalities in the HR app, documentation in the translation tool, hands-on onboarding at the machine in Aikando.
Does Aikando require programming skills?
No. Aikando works without coding: experts create instructions themselves by recording a task. You don't need an IT department or a team of developers to get started.
Which industries and use cases is Aikando for?
Aikando works well anywhere practical knowledge needs to circulate quickly: maintenance, repair, assembly lines, quality control and training. One platform supports multiple production halls.
Does CAPTiX run maintenance training and courses for maintenance managers?
CAPTiX is not a training company in the traditional sense: we don't run external courses or certifications. Aikando is a platform that a plant uses on its own to record the knowledge of its best maintenance technicians and turn it into visual diagnostic and repair instructions. This lets maintenance managers build their own in-house training programme, based on the plant's real procedures rather than generic course material.
How can you improve quality consistency on the production floor?
Consistency drops when each worker performs a task their own way. Aikando standardises how work is done: interactive step-by-step instructions with AR prompts ensure everyone follows the same proven process. This means fewer errors, fewer reworks, and stable quality regardless of shift or seniority.
How can you improve production quality without increasing costs?
You don't need a bigger budget to raise quality. You just need to standardise what already works best. Aikando records experts' proven practices and turns them into interactive step-by-step instructions, so the whole team works to the same standard without extra investment in equipment or new hires.
How can you increase production output without growing the team?
The biggest gain doesn't come from your best people working harder, but from everyone working smarter. Aikando spreads experts' best practices across the whole team, cuts onboarding time for new hires by up to 2×, and reduces time lost searching for information, so with the same headcount the team delivers more finished work.
How can you train and onboard foreign workers despite the language barrier?
Aikando instructions are multilingual and guide workers step by step, hands-free, so every worker, regardless of language or experience, gets the same guidance in their own language. This shortens onboarding and evens out quality across a diverse, multinational team.
Does Aikando support on-the-job training for workers who don't speak Polish?
Yes, this is one of the main use cases. Aikando instructions are based on demonstration and imitating the expert's movements, so understanding Polish isn't a requirement for completing the task, and text and voice are available in the worker's own language. This supports on-the-job coaching and day-to-day work; formal health and safety training required by law is carried out in line with applicable regulations, and Aikando complements it rather than replacing it.
How can you prepare your plant for a shortage of workers?
Demographic forecasts (including those from the Polish Economic Institute) indicate that by 2035 the number of people working in Poland could fall by as much as around 2.1 million, while the share of foreign workers in industry keeps growing. In practice this means two things: the knowledge of experienced workers needs to stay in the company despite turnover, and onboarding new people, including those who don't speak Polish, must be fast and repeatable. Aikando addresses both challenges: it captures experts' know-how as visual instructions and shortens the time it takes new operators to become self-sufficient, regardless of language.
How can you retain the knowledge of departing experts?
When an experienced worker leaves, they usually take their "secret recipe" with them. Aikando lets you record that knowledge once and turn it into a lasting company asset that others can then draw on. The know-how stays, even as the team changes.
How quickly can you roll out Aikando and shorten onboarding?
Recordings become ready-to-use instructions within minutes, and new workers reach standard productivity up to 2× faster. Rollout doesn't require writing instructions from scratch or lengthy in-person training sessions.
Do the instructions work hands-free and on AR glasses?
Yes. Aikando instructions are designed to work hands-free, on AR glasses or on a mobile device, so the worker has guidance in front of their eyes and free hands to perform the task.
How many languages do the instructions support, and are they translated?
Everyone uses the instructions in their own language, regardless of experience or background. This makes the same work standard available to the whole, multilingual team.
How does Aikando protect experts' knowledge and company data?
Aikando captures the "secret recipe" of your best workers and turns it into a lasting asset for the whole company, instead of losing it to staff turnover. We describe our data processing rules in our privacy policy, and we're happy to discuss security details during a demo.
What benefits and ROI does implementing Aikando deliver?
By spreading best practices beyond a small group of experts, you raise the productivity and quality of the whole team: learning by doing is up to 24% more effective, and onboarding new workers is up to 2× faster.
